TONIGHT 5pm: Join Mike’s Conservative Club on July 22

Mike Herl, Contributor, Four Lakes Voices

I have assembled a small team of conservative-type folks to help me launch a series of speakers from the area that can provide us with their insights and experiences within the Southcentral Wisconsin political scene. Until we come up with a better name for this group, we are simply calling it “Mike’s Conservative Club”. We will be limiting the size of the participants to fifty (50) people so that we do not overwhelm staffing at our chosen venues.

We have lined-up Howard Marklein, state senator, as our next speaker for Mike’s Conservative Club. We will be meeting at Kavanaugh’s TONIGHT at 5pm (Tuesday, July 22). Again, we are limiting this to 50 people, and you may share this invite with all of your friends.

TONIGHT 5pm (Tues. July 22)

Howard will talk about the budget battle that just concluded two weeks ago and he will talk about his upcoming election and the sudden opponent who just threw her hat into the election ring. Howard will also be taking donations for this upcoming battle so don’t forget your checkbooks! Thanks.

Madison Officials Gut Voter-Approved Lakefront Protections for $320M Project

The board room at the Parks Division offices commands a sweeping view of Lake Monona, with a wall of windows framing the very waterfront at stake—Olin, Law, and Brittingham Parks stretching along 1.7 miles of shoreline. It was here, in this room overlooking the $320 million question, that Lisa Laschinger, Interim Parks Superintendent, stood before the Board of Park Commissioners on July 9 to make her case.

After eight years of planning Madison’s most transformational lakefront development, city officials had somehow never mentioned one crucial detail in any public document: voters had specifically required their approval for exactly this type of project.

Now, with construction looming and costs ballooning, they needed to fix their “oversight"—by asking the Common Council to strip away the very protection Madison voters had created to prevent such circumvention.

Video Release: Sen. Johnson Holds Hearing Entitled “Voices of the Vaccine Injured”

Yesterday, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, held a hearing entitled “Voices of the Vaccine Injured.” The Subcommittee heard from five witnesses who discussed vaccine injuries and two witnesses who discussed vaccine efficacy.

“All of the witnesses presented powerful testimony and engaged in respectful discussion. I believe all of these stories needed to be told and listened to. I sincerely hope that the hearing helped to bridge the gap and demonstrate how to heal and unify our horribly divided nation,” Sen. Johnson said.
