STOP THE RUSH TO JUDGMENT!

Once again in Madison, Wisconsin, mob mentality reared its ugly head to vilify police for shooting and killing a man police were trying to take into custody. It happened on Williamson St. on Wednesday afternoon, July 22. Someone caught the altercation on video and then sent that viral video contending simply that an innocent man was just shot dead by police. Soon that video was on every TV Stations news feeds along with that exact opinion being spread.

I’m personally appalled at both the media, as well as, those who produced and perpetuated that story without any additional evidence. Even the Madison Mayor vilified police before any investigation was started by police or the State Justice Department that has jurisdiction investigating such incidents. Protestors of the shooting death fueled only by speculation even shut down the “Concerts on the Square” social event Wednesday night (and the final concert this week was cancelled too) to further spew opinion while facts were being investigated. It is the clearest example of a “Rush To Judgment!”

My guess is that most people who knew of this incident, saw only the single video and heard only speculation that an innocent victim was shot by police. This has to stop. The truth must be determined by a complete investigation. Then the truth be told!
